About Me
Traditional Birth Keeping is the art of being with women as they enter the birth portal, witnessing them shed their maiden identity and step into motherhood.
My call to birth work has been years in the making. I spent years as an esthetician, doing skin care and massage on women really taught me to connect to women and their energy. I took my job as a confidante seriously, and made it my personal mission to make every woman feel special and beautiful and seen. I was regularly told I missed my calling as a massage therapist - as my touch was gentle but firm - but really I like to think they were referring to my energy and how I made them feel on a deeper level. I cherish that time of my life and the things I learned.
When I became pregnant with my first, I was like a sponge. I wanted to know everything about birth, and was fascinated to realize that my body was incredibly capable of doing what I, as a woman, was born to do. I had a medical midwife, and prepared for a natural hospital birth. I watched others around me being victims of the medical model, having terribly traumatic births, and knew that I wanted to help women have beautiful birth experiences. Things changed at the last minute, and I had a c section. At the time it felt like the safest option, but in retrospect, I was also a victim of the medical model that doesn’t trust birth, women’s bodies, or babies.
When I became pregnant with my second child, my life had changed drastically. I lived 1.5 hours from the nearest birthing hospital, with only 2 OB’s - one with terrible reviews. So I had a 50/50 shot at having an extremely traumatic birth in a hospital, or having an okay hospital birth. Additionally, I was due in December, and knew there was a possibility that I might not even make it to the hospital if there was a snowstorm. I was afraid of going to the hospital to find an OB I was terrified of, and I was afraid I wouldn’t make it to a hospital at all. I started doing all the research I could into how to have a baby at home alone - because I wanted to be prepared for a worst case scenario, just in case. The more I learned about freebirth, the more it felt like the right decision for me, and the more I realized that more women needed to know this was an option, that traumatic birth is common nowadays but it shouldn’t be; and that we as women possess all of the knowledge and intuition needed to birth our babies, it is woven into our very being by generations of women before us. We just need to learn to trust the innate wisdom that lives inside of us.
A decision that was rooted in fear, led me back to my calling all over again. While pregnant and preparing for my own freebirth, a local birth keeper was offering a mentorship to new birth keepers, and I decided what better way to prepare for my own freebirth than to learn how to coach other women through the process? I learned so much, and am so greatful for all of the wisdom and knowledge that she passed on. After my birth took a turn, and did not go according to plan, I took some time to grieve my birth story, and to enjoy the fourth trimester as best as I could.

Two years later, in 2025, my third spirit baby was called in. I knew the only option that I felt comfortable with after my 2 previous births were sabotaged - was a wild pregnancy and a freebirth. Right before Christmas 2025, my baby girl was born at home - finally giving me the redemptive, empowering birth I had longed for.
I am back to answering the call of my soul to mother mothers

Virtual Birth Keeping
This is the package I wanted when I was planning my freebirth!
I wanted someone to be on call for my birth in case I had specific questions, or needed support in labour, without having them in my space. Or if my husband needed support and guidance, or if he needed to tend to the toddler and I needed someone “present” to hold space for me. I wanted them to answer the phone IF I decided to call them, but I didnt want to feel obligated to call them because I’d already paid them to be on call.
So here I introduce my virtual on call options!
