Lindsey - The Face Behind Blackbird Apothecary 

Hi! I'm Lindsey and I am the face behind Blackbird Apothecary & Beauty Bar. The idea for my skincare line has been in my head for a number of years and has changed and evolved many times before launching and becoming what it is today.

As a kid, I always made "potions" and had "secret ingredients"  - I loved playing in the kitchen with different things, and experimenting. I always had a passion for creating - whether that was in the kitchen, or with crafts. Having an idea and seeing it grow and evolve into something beautiful always excited me. Over the years, I have been called a "hippie" for my love of all things natural many times. ​

Fast forward to my adult life. I graduated with honors from DelMar College of Esthetics and Wellness in 2016, with a passion for skin care. I told everyone I would have my own skin care line one day. After some years in the industry, including returning to Delmar as an instructor, I left esthetics to become a mother, telling myself I would return one day, but knowing that having babies at home left me with little time and energy for clients.

Becoming a mom in 2021, I became painfully aware of how many toxins are around us. I became even more obsessed with natural products. I started using tallow, but quickly realized how expensive it is, and was determined to lower my family's costs. So I put all of my potion making skills, and skin care knowledge to good use to start making products for my family. I shared some with a friend who also used tallow but struggled to find something cost effective, and she fell in love with my products, and encouraged me to run with it! Blackbird Apothecary was launched a few short months later!

With the launch of Blackbird Apothecary in Spring 2024, the universe started nudging me back into esthetics. After a failed attempted to go back to work at a job that was unaligned with my soul, the thought that maybe I was ready to go back to esthetics crept in. The opportunity to join The Collective in Hanna immediately presented itself, confirming that I was on the right path. Blackbird Beauty Bar will open March 2025!
